The Role
An Architectural Designer at Mathison | Mathison Architects works across the full range of the
design process, from early concept through construction. They develop Revit models and
construction documents, support design presentations and consultant coordination, and engage
directly with clients and builders. With a clear understanding of scope, responsibilities, and
resources, they approach each project with ownership, curiosity, and attention to detail. This is a
position for someone who takes the craft of architecture seriously and wants broad, hands-on
experience in a design-focused studio.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and coordinate Revit models and construction drawings
Assist with design development, visualization, and presentations
Support project documentation and consultant coordination
Participate in client meetings and design discussions
Assist with code research, permitting, and AHJ coordination
Support construction administration and project delivery
Qualifications
Required
2–4 years of experience in an architecture firm
Strong proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Enscape or similar
visualization tools
Familiarity with the construction process and documentation standards
Comfortable initiating verbal and phone communication with clients, consultants, builders,
and others outside the office; able to engage directly and confidently without defaulting to
email

Preferred
On the path to architectural licensure
Experience with Rhino and/or SketchUp
Familiarity with custom residential construction
Experience in a high-performing design office
Exposure to complex commercial or institutional projects

This position is primarily in-person, with an expectation of working in the office
approximately four days per week
