In recognition of exceptional academic performance, Lauren Herzog has been awarded the 2026 AIA Medal for Academic Excellence by the NAAB-accredited Master of Architecture (MArch) program at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University.

A West Michigan native, Lauren earned her Master of Architecture from KCAD in May 2026. Throughout her studies, she focused on community-centered design and how architecture connects people with place. She interned at Paradigm Design while completing her graduate degree and joined the firm full-time following graduation. Currently, she is studying for her AREs and completing her AXP hours as she works toward licensure. Beyond her professional pursuits, Lauren enjoys drawing, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Established by an AIA Board resolution in 1914, the award has spent over a century honoring top graduating students in NAAB- or CACB-accredited Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture, or Doctor of Architecture programs. Each year, more than 100 institutions nominate a single BArch, MArch, or DArch graduate who demonstrates overall excellence across their academic tenure.

Lauren will be celebrated and officially recognized at the upcoming AIA Grand Rapids 2026 Honor Awards Celebration on October 8, 2026.
