At Progressive AE we design human-centered spaces that revolve around a comprehensive understanding of how our clients work, do business, learn, play and worship. We believe well-designed places improve the human experience and strategically impact organizational purpose. For 55 years, Progressive AE has been impacting the lives of our community, our professionals, and the future of the design profession.
Our design process is dedicated to impacting the lives of our clients, end-users, and the communities they serve. We are committed to Performance-based Design, a process which focuses on simple clear work with an emphasis on people and driving organizational performance.
A prime example of the success of our work and dedication to impacting lives is the Mary Free Bed YMCA. Since 2015, the facility has seen incredible growth with 366% more members than at the previous facility in the same community. Additionally, the YMCA has added 19 new programs, including eight new adaptive sports programs for members with disabilities. By eliminating barriers, the facility has become a beacon of inclusiveness.
Community and Professional Impact
Dedicating energy and resources to impact the future of our profession has long been paramount to Progressive AE. We work closely with Kent County Intermediate School District and the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan to introduce students from all backgrounds to architecture.
We support our young architects with full compensation for exams and on-site study and training sessions. We engage them in all levels of our process to grow their excitement and passion for architecture. In fact, Progressive AE has seen four architects named Young Architect of the Year by AIA Michigan.
We believe in making an impact on our people. Progressive AE has been named one of the Best and Brightest Places to Work in West Michigan for 12 years running. In 2017, we won the Governor’s Fitness Award as one of the healthiest places to work in Michigan.
