Michael Belisle, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP
The Design Forum, Inc.
Michael Belisle has worked for The Design Forum Inc. for 13 years. Despite his years of experience, people still mistake him for being right out of school as he was born with a baby face. Luckily, after 3 children, he is starting to see some wrinkles and his wife has noticed a few gray hairs here and there. He graduated from Lawrence Technological University in 2001 with his Masters of Architecture Degree; while completing his studies at LTU, Mike got a taste of the “real world” of architecture while working at John Dziurman architects in Rochester. Upon graduation, Mike, and his wife, Jana, decided to forgo the big bucks the Detroit area had to offer and head back to the west side of the state where the stress and traffic were not an everyday ordeal. He is currently a project architect at TDF and enjoys working on a wonderful diverse mix of projects there.
Mike resides in Rockford with his wife, Jana, and 3 children (Isaiah, 10, Gabriel, 8, and Olive, 5). Jana is a registered nurse and the ICU quality coordinator at Metro Health Hospital and enjoys staying active and healthy as a part-time Group Fitness instructor at MVP Athletic Club in Rockford. Mike and Jana met their junior year at Rockford High School, were married during college, and recently celebrated their 15 year anniversary.
Mike’s out-of-the-office passions include mountain biking, running, taking the stairs during stair week (September 8-15), going on tropical vacations during the winter with his family, and getting ice cream from Rocky’s in Rockford while sitting by the dam.
He serves at his church (Plainfield Christian Church) in many capacities and is also the treasurer for his homeowners’ association.
