Robin Ellerthorpe, FAIA, NCARB of HOK will be presenting on Building Information Modeling in the Building Lifecycle.
As building owners become aware of the value that Building Information Modeling (BIM) brings to integrated design and construction, facility managers and operations groups are also wondering how BIM fits into the building information lifecycle. This presentation introduces the building lifecycle concept and applies that to what HOK calls the design information environment leading to new thinking in building information architecture. New tools that support programming, design, commissioning, and building operations and management will then be presented and placed in context with relevant case studies in a fast-paced presentation followed by discussion.
Two learning units will be available to attendees. Lunch will be provided. This lunch and learn will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 130 at FSU/GRCC Applied Technology Center, 151 Fountain Street, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
