The AIA Grand Rapids is pleased to host an event on January 23 at Kendall College's Historic Federal Building on green health. The access to healthy and local food is now a frequent topic of discussion. Opening remarks are made by Mimi Fritz of the new Downtown Market and Dr. David Rosen of Kendall College. You will hear how this new building is transforming urban growth in Grand Rapids. After their opening remarks, a national webinar called Strategies for Growing Urban Agriculture will be broadcast. The speakers will discuss urban agriculture design guidelines, policy and community standards in cities and towns throughout the US and Canada. It is an excellent opportunity to hear the current state of the practices. No prior experience or background necessary.
Please bring your lunch, and doors will open at 12:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and the event will be over by 2 p.m. Please see flier for more information.
